Mixed fibres, length approximately three metres. This communal artwork was made by 71 weavers (or weaving teams) during my artist residency and exhibition (‘Another Day’s Light’) at The Riverside Museum in Reading, July 2025. Most visitors had no previous experience of weaving on a loom, but were keen to get involved. This enjoyable activity was designed to reduce anxiety and provide the opportunity for me to introduce myself and my work. It also prompted rich conversation, including personal stories revealing local and family histories. Each differently coloured and numbered section is paired to the comment left by its weaver/s (see below).
